Healthcare communication is genuinely hard to get right. The stakes are high, the subject matter is complex, and the audience—whether it’s a patient navigating a new diagnosis or a caregiver trying to understand a treatment plan—often comes to your content already anxious or overwhelmed.

Getting those words right matters more than most people realize.

I’ve spent 17+ years in that reality as a nurse. I know what it’s like to sit with a patient and translate a complicated clinical picture into something they can act on. That experience shapes everything I write.

Today, I partner with healthcare organizations, agencies, and health systems to create content that’s medically sound, clearly written, and built around what real patients and caregivers actually need to know.

My work includes:

• Long-form health content
• Patient education materials
• Plain-language clinical translations
• Web copy

Basically, any type of written health content where clear, accurate communication is the goal.

I went back to school for a master’s in health communications because I wanted to understand the strategic side of this work—not just how to write accurately, but how to think about audience, message, and the role content plays in health literacy and patient trust.

That combination of clinical depth and communications training is what I bring to every project.
