Got some questions about hiring a medical copywriter for your practice? Here are the answers to some of the questions I get asked most often.

What is a medical copywriter?

Copywriting is a form of writing that persuades the reader to take action. Traditionally it’s been used most often in marketing. The goal is to have the reader take the desired action– usually buying a product.

A medical copywriter is someone who has specialized knowledge of the medical industry and combines that with persuasive writing talent.

A medical copywriter might use their skills to encourage someone to choose a specific healthcare provider, take an action to improve their health, or purchase a health-related product or service.

How can a medical copywriter help my practice?

As a medical copywriter, I can help you:

Attract new patients to your practice — I write search engine-optimized web copy and content that shows up when your potential patients are looking for answers.

Keep your existing patients engaged and educated in between visits — Consistent fresh content that’s well researched but also written in easy-to-understand language allows your patients to consume information on their own schedule. And it keeps them thinking about your practice!

Save time and hassle — You’re busy running a small business. There’s a good chance you don’t have time to research and create copy and content on a regular basis. I take that off your plate so you can focus on taking care of your patients.

Can you help my practice’s website get found on Google?

Yes! A copywriter with knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) principles can help you rank higher in Google searches. This means your website will get more traffic, and your practice will get more views from potential patients. And I’m ready to help you.

Can we do a test project first to see if we’re a good fit?

Yes! I often encourage a small paid test project such as a blog post or single page on your website to make sure we’re a good fit before embarking on a full website copy or blog post retainer agreement.

Do you offer retainers or subscriptions?

Yes! After an initial test project, many of my clients move into retainer agreements for ongoing content.

This provides you with two main benefits:

1. Fresh content to publish regularly. This keeps your current patients entertained and engaged and increases your domain authority with search engine algorithms.

2. Subscription-based pricing. An ongoing business relationship allows me to offer you lower per-piece prices than I could for one-off projects.

What does the whole process of a typical project look like?

We talk

We’ll connect over the phone or by email. You tell me about your practice and the details of your project.

Then

I make a plan of action and send you a quote and project timeline.

Next

You’ll submit a 50% deposit. This reserves your place in my project queue.

Research and Writing

I begin researching the topics and keywords that your patients are looking for. I’ll get in touch with you with any questions.

Then I begin carefully crafting your piece. All of my work is thoroughly researched and always supported by scholarly resources and the newest scientific studies.

First Draft

I send you the first draft of your piece by the designated deadline, along with an invoice for the remaining 50% of the balance.

You can review the draft and provide any edits and/or feedback you would like for a final draft.

Final Delivery

You submit the final invoice and I send you the final copy of your piece with any feedback incorporated.

So how can I reach you?

It’s easy!
